Come Home in One Piece!!!

This weekend Jeremy, Maya, and I went to a nice resort just outside of Bend, Oregon called Pronghorn for his work management retreat. There were 4 families there - the two principals' families, Jeremy's family and the other Associate, Rob's family. We stayed in 2 units that were both the size of a nice big house and decorated like nothing we have ever seen before. It was beautiful! Jeremy, Maya and I got our own little suite off the main floor living space. Maya did not sleep so well in her pack-n-play so she slept with us for the better part of Friday and Saturday nights. Jeremy and I are not used to a king-sized bed so we did not mind having her sleep between us to fill in the gap. On Saturday, all of the families hung out by the pool-side to catch some rays. It was a beautiful, relaxing day - until.....

+ JEREMY =

That's right...Jeremy decided to go hands first down the kiddie slide and accidentally bonked his head on the bottom of the slide before entering the water. Thankfully he did not get knocked out because the rest of us were on the opposite side of the pool not really paying attention. When he came over to get his towel, that's when Shannon said "Jeremy, you're bleeding!" It was a pretty big cut but nothing the first-aid center could not clean up....or so I thought. The butterfly bandages did not work to close the gap, nor did the blood stop flowing. So he made an executive decision to drive 20 minutes to the nearest hospital. It is a good thing he did because he returned with 6 stitches and a booster shot (for which he was due). Even though Jeremy was in wrestling and football in high-school, and even in boot-camp and dive-school in the Navy, he has never had stitches until now. Who knew that his first major cut would come from a kiddie slide! Let's just say that I don't think his co-workers will let him live this one down. Jeremy has to go back to a clinic to get the stiches removed on Thursday or Friday of this week.
On Saturday night, the older kids watched Maya as the adults went do this gorgeous dining room at the resort. I remember thinking that I was so thankful that I was not 'one of the kids' anymore. We had a wonderful dinner overlooking the golf resort and desert land. It was a breath-taking view. Here are all of the adults on our way to the dining room, (Jeremy is taking the picture)...

And some more...

The women and kids left the resort Sunday afternoon to drive home. For me and Maya it was a 3 1/2 hour drive, so I was pretty thankful when she fell asleep about a half an hour into the drive. It made the rest of the trip a little less stressful. I managed to find my way home okay - after some strange GOOGLE MAP directions led me astray in Salem. In the end, we got home safe and sound and I called Jeremy back at the resort to let him know that we were okay. Jeremy and the other men will be staying there until Tuesday to discuss work and future plans for the company. I think they are going golfing today though - haha. Maya and I already miss Jeremy but thankfully he will be home tomorrow. However, I have to leave a messege to the other men... Jeff, Todd, and Rob, please bring my husband home in one piece!
Thanks for a great vacation SFA Engineering Group!
