We had decided that Saturday was going to be big shopping day for us with trying to find Maya's new convertible crib, mattress, curtains and other things to put in her new room. The first stop was Babies-R-Us to buy her a crib that we we saw in their flyer. They were offering $20 off a crib/mattress set so we thought it was a great deal, only to have one of the sales people tell us that that crib was not available at that particular store. Then we found another that we thought was great, but they were all sold out and we would have had to take the model that was on the floor. I didn't like that idea so we decided to just go to JC Penney and Sears to see what they had. We had to purchase the valance for Maya's new window treatments at JC Penney anyway so the trip was not really out of our way. No cribs at JC Penney! None at Sears either! So we got our valance and left the mall as quick as we could. Seeing we live about an hour from all of these good stores, we decided that we would try another stop - The Toyota Dealership. We have been thinking about purchasing a new vehicle for a while but we haven't really taken anything for a test drive so we thought that it might be a fun thing to do. Plus, Jeremy did some research the night before and noticed that that specific dealership had the vehicle that he wants. So when we got there, we gave the sales guy the stock number for the vehicle that Jeremy was interested in and we got to take it for a test drive. About 3 hours later, we were driving away in our new Toyota 4-Runner. Okay, well it is not exactly new but it is to us! It is a used model but in EXCELLENT condition!! I feel like I am on top of the world when I am driving it. It even came in our favorite color - SILVER! So we went out looking for a crib and came home with a new vehicle. Can't argue with that! I will be driving "Mr. Silverstein" around town and Jeremy will now use my Honda Civic, "Madame Blueberry" to drive back and forth to work which will save a lot on gas as he works about an hour away from home. Anyway, here is a picture of our new baby...

As we began to ponder the crib situation, we decided that we would simply get a twin bed instead (with a safety railing). Granted, Maya is not ready to sleep in a twin bed right now, but she can sleep in her existing crib until the new baby is out of his/her bassinet. We just bought a twin mattress over the weekend, along with bed sheets, so all we have left to find now is the bed frame and blanket. So far so good. We are pretty excited about how her room is starting to look. We will post pictures when it is all decorated nicely.
Here are a couple of photos we took of Maya over the weekend. Two were taken in the water feature at the park up the street from our house and two were taken in our backyard.

nice wheels. We have also decided to just buy a twin bed for Grayson. We will just put the mattress on the floor until he is sleeping more still. This kid is all over the place at night
glad you have found a vehicle! I have to say that I LOVE that top photo of Maya on your blog page - those eyelashes are to die for!! They are absolutely perfectly curled!
