Taller Than a Hot Mama!

Amidst all of the fix-ups on our current house and packing to move, we also had to take the kids to the doctor today. Declan was in for his 4 month check-up and Maya was in for her 18 month one (even though she won't be 18 months until the 29th). Declan weighed in at 14 lbs (50%) and measured 26 inches tall (85%). Maya was 22 lbs (30%) and measured 32 inches tall (75%). Go figure that we would have tall babies! They must have gotten their genes from a distant relative - not from us for sure. Declan is so tall that we have been wearing 9-12 month pants on him just for the length. I am pretty certain that it won't be long before he catches up to Maya. She's 13 months older and only 6 inches taller. They will be wearing the same clothes before you know it.

Declan rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time this morning. He is such a happy baby! When Jeremy walked into the kitchen this morning Maya turned around and said "Hi Dad." Later this afternoon, she said "Hot, Mama" but I am pretty certain she didn't mean that she had a hot mama. I guess this just means that she is starting to put words together. She knows a lot of words but today was the first time she started putting two together. She also uses the potty at least once a day now. She is still in her crib and has yet to sleep in her own bed but we are hoping that we can just put her in her new bed when she gets her new room. Declan will then be able to sleep in his crib instead of the pak-n-play.
