From Yucky Muck to Paradise

Maya bumped into her brother today and patting him on the head said "Sorry!" After noticing that Hudson was the only boy in her Sunday School class of about 10 I asked "Maya, did you flirt with Hudson today?" - to which she replied "WINK!" implying she had winked at him. Entering the TV room from her bedroom following her nap she said "FOUR FOUR!!" and at first I wasn't sure what she was talking about until she grabbed the remote. She wanted to watch Hi-5 but had mixed-up her numbers (silly girl). It is so amazing how quickly babies turn into toddlers. Just a year ago we were trying to prevent Maya from eating the sand on the beach and now we can make sand castles with her. On the down-side, we now have to make sure Declan is not eating the sand!

We decided to take the kids to Hagg Lake yesterday, a place we have never been before. We now know it as YUCKY LAKE because the alloted 5 feet of muddy rocks on the shoreline was not too appealing for a young family trying to play in the 'sand.' Stepping into the water was a little like stepping into quick sand with our feet getting burried almost completely in the MUD! But we took pictures even though we had only been there for 20 minutes.

We discovered that we were not going to have a good time at HAGG LAKE so we headed to a tourist town on the coast called Seaside. It was a little packed but so much better. We all got to play in the sand and in the ocean and watch people biking and kiting on the beach. Here are some better pictures from Seaside...
