Zero to One and One to Two

The costume party has come and gone and as excited as I was to plan it, I am just as excited that I can finally sit-back and focus on spending more time with the kids before I start planning for my father's visit, Thanksgiving, Jeremy's birthday and Christmas. The party was a lot of fun. It started off with the invitation....(I blacked out our address for obvious reasons).

....and what an ODD crew we were! Maya was dressed as Tinkerbelle, Declan was Elvis, and Jeremy and I were Gilligan and Ginger.

And yes, even grandma and grandpa dressed-up:) Declan cried when he first saw his grandpa though...haha.

I suppose the real Three Hour Tour could have included Tinkerbelle and Elvis but that would be a story all in itself. Declan learned to walk about a week before the party so everyone found his hip-action walk pretty funny and fitting. Maya floated around the house like a real fairy, and most of the time I couldn't even find her. She was mingling with every kid in sight. We had around 11 kids here, plus their parents so it was a full house. Lots of fun and COMPETITION. YES I said COMPETITION - only between Gilligan and Ginger though. Jeremy and I had decided that we would each make a birthday cake. I was assigned to Maya's and Jeremy made Declan's. I was pretty impressed with the masterpiece that Jeremy came up with. He's a lot more creative than I even knew. Here is what he managed to create....

(The only non-edible parts are the up-rights which were made from straws)

And because Maya is such a girlie-girl, I just HAD to make her this...

(the only non-edible part of hers are the accessories in the front)

So all in all, the party was a huge success and everyone seemed to have lots of fun. Declan is not quite 1 yet but he is sure acting a lot older. He drinks from his sippy-cup, he's walking, he's playing with Maya and starting to get more and more teeth all the time. I think he's up to 7 now. Maya has been 2 for a couple of weeks now and she is starting to be a lot nicer to her brother. Could it be that she went through her TERRIBLE TWOS early? One could only hope...haha. They are both pretty fun to have around and we are so thankful for the joy they bring us everyday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY ANGELS:)

I also want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister Dayna who's 33rd birthday happens to be tomorrow. Hope you have a WONDERFUL day sis and I will be praying for early contractions for you. I want to know if it's going to be Deniece or Denephew:) HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!

It's nice that you and Jeremy are on the same page when it comes doing creative things for he kids and also how you guys always think up something different for your anniversary gifts to each other.

By the way, that's an ugly looking Christmas Tree. I would never think about decorating my tree like that - Ha! Oh, what was I thinking back in those days????

I was more concerned about the dirty sock hanging from the fireplace, mom!
