All Good Things Come to a Beginning...

Jeremy and I decided to watch old videos this past weekend. We saw the one we made from the very first time he visited Calgary and proposed to me on the gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain. It was funny to see how giddy I was and how incredibly happy we were. The video began to stir-up some butterfly emotions. It served as a reminder that all good things come to a...beginning. Just 4 months after this video was created, Jeremy and I said our vows. And within the 2 years following 2 babies were born. ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO A BEGINNING!

Because everything happend so quickly for us we are just now starting to feel like we are newly-weds - honeymooners - eager to get to know each other better. The kids are at the age where they are a little self-sufficient and that has worked out well for us as a couple. There are - of course - moments of inescapable excitement (for lack of a better word) in our house, but when the day is done and we are able to reflect back on the day we always laugh. We laugh at the way Maya flies around the house with her blanky around her neck yelling "SUPER DAUGHTER!" We laugh at how no matter how often Declan gets pushed around or pinned to the floor, he always gets back up with a smile on his face ready to begin a new adventure with his sister. ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO A BEGINNING!

I have a renewed confidence that this year will be one to embrace forever. At the end of this summer we will get to visit my mom and my sister's family in Ontario. I have been waiting for what seems like a decade to see my sister's kids again. It has been more than 2 years already and our kids are finally at the age where they can play together. I feel extremely happy that my mom will get to visit us here in Oregon in June as well. This will be the first time she will get to see where we live and the beauty of the Pacific Coast. This is where I really started my life. Where I began to understand the unconditional love a mother could have for her children and a wife could have for her husband.

So bring on the days ahead. The days of new beginnings, new hope, & new excitement. I am eager to watch ALL GOOD THINGS BEGIN again and again and again...

Really nice blog.....not because you mentioned me, but it was well put and a good title too. I am really looking forward to coming to visit. I feel like it's a new "beginning" for me too. Hopefully we will be able to see each other more often after I move.

Love you lots!

i know exactly what you mean. my husband and i met and were married within 9 months and then quickly had two children. i came into the marriage with a daughter who he has adopted and who is now 12. things just happened fast. we are still going through the baby phase with our son but i feel like you do about getting back to the newlywed-ness.
i laughed at your comment about the kids. gg likes to put a baby towel ( the ones with hoods) on as her cape and flies around the house yelling " super bunny dragon". don't know where that came from but it's funny. and she is constantly pushing, rolling, laying on shep and he never cries. just laughs at her a crawls on away when he can.
anyway, sorry for the long comment. just identified with your post.
have a great day!
