Happy Feet Scores a Touchdown!
Our boy could be the next (white) Michael Jordan! We had him measured today and he is above the 90th percentile for his height at 32 inches. Anyone who really knows him and his eating habits would never believe this, but he is actually slightly below average (48%) in weight at 23 1/2 lbs. They measured his head and it has always been below the 20th percentile but today he made it up to the 24th percentile. He is a tall, average-sized boy with a small head. But I am a true believer that none of this can predict what he will turn out like in the future. Why? Well because when I was about 7 years old my doctor to me that I would end up to be about 5' 8" tall and about 115 lbs if I continued to grow the same way that I was growing. And we all know how that turned out.....short and definitely not 115 lbs (right now anyway). So Declan's stats do not matter so much to me because he will always be our little heart-throb:) And if he turns out to be tall - BONUS!
Declan has been nick-named Happy Feet. When he is in a good mood, which is most of the time, he always has to have his feet moving....just like Mumble in the movie Happy Feet. He loves to dance - especially to the theme of his favorite TV show Imagination Movers. And just recently he has started to run and scream at the same time - just like his sister does. (Which did not prove to be fun for me while we were in the doctor's waiting room yesterday)! But he is a happy boy so why should I take away his Happy Feet?
Declan's favorite words:
"Bubah" (bye bye)
"Oh Well!"
"Uh-Oh!"
"Helrow!" (hello)
"Go, Go, Go!"
"Gooh gool" (good girl)
Declan's favorite food:
Blueberries
Oranges
Chicken Nuggets
Mac-N-Cheese
....oh who am I kidding? He likes EVERYTHING!
Jeremy and I have been teaching Declan how to run-the-ball. He takes daddy's big football and runs across the room and then throws it down on the floor as if he has just made a touch down. Next comes catching the ball and before you know it Declan C. Williams will be the best Running Back to grace the field at Oregon State University!
I got Maya weighed too and she is 26 1/2 lbs so there is only 3 lbs between them right now. I didn't get her height though. Declan goes back to the doctor in 6 months and then they are both free of needles until they are in kindergarten. YAY!
