As a parent, have you ever really wondered if you are being a good role model? Are your faith and morals being passed on to your kids? I had an encouraging moment of clarity today when I was talking to my mom on the phone. The kids were playing in Declan's room and I was sitting on the couch in the family room. My mom was trying to tell me a story, but I happend to get distracted when I glanced over and saw both of my kids sitting in the rocking chair in Declan's room. Declan was sitting quietly as his sister had her hands folded and her eyes closed. She was praying with her little brother. My heart melted. I understand that I was being a little rude by not listening to my mother's story on the phone, and for that I am sorry, but this was a special moment. A moment that I wish I had caught on film. After the kids were done, I got Maya to pray with her nanny on the phone. Again with her eyes closed and her hands folded she said a little prayer:
"Dear God, thank you so much. For Grandma, Grandpa, lollipops. Amen!"
My mom just laughed!

Yes, it was funny!
How sweet! Don't you just want to freeze-frame those moments? I'm sure you'll remember it for a long time...especially since you've now written it down.
You guys are excellent parents. Your kids are lucky to have you to look up too! Maya is so cute too, what a big girl she is becoming!
