She's a Big Girl Now!

We went to the city carnival called Turkey-Rama on Saturday just to see what it was all about. Neither of us had ever gone before so it was a first for our family. The clouds were overhead so we didn't think it was very hot out, but as we started to stroll Maya around the streets we began to get really hot. I tried to make Maya laugh a few times but she was completely out of sorts. Her face was all red and her hair was full of sweat. So we decided to buy a snow cone to see if we could use the ice to help cool her off. I took some of the ice and smeared it all over her head (forgetting that there was sugar in the cone as well). We left a short time later and headed for home. Maya was so tired that we laid her down for a nap as soon as we got in the door. Well this is what her hair looked like when she woke-up...

Thanks to our wonderful neighbor, the air-conditioning is now working in Madam Blueberry (my car). It hasn't been working since I left Calgary 2 years ago and I finally had enough of the heat and decided to see what he could do. All it needed was a top-up in fluid and it started to work again. I am soooo thankful! Now we can use the car on the weekends even when it is hot outside!

I sang for the last time in the worship team at church on Sunday. I decided to get out of it because our summer has been quite busy so far and will continue to be right up until the baby is born around November 1st. Plus, it probably won't be too easy to plan around our two little angels once the second one arrives, so I will be a free agent until we get our feet on the ground with the new adjustments. Anyway, Jeremy thought that he should take a picture of my last day singing on the worship team. I think he really wanted to take belly shots though...
(24 Weeks)

After months of researching car seats, we finally bought a new one for Maya. We went to Babies-R-Us and spoke to the lady who worked there and she suggested the Evenflo Triumph Advance DLX. She said it was comparable to the Britax (which are $100 more) but she said that she had a Britax and she still would prefer the Evenflo over that one. The one we got has memory-foam, a lot of great safety features, and it even goes up to 50lbs so Maya will be using it until she is about 5 years old. We are pretty happy about it and Maya loves sitting in it. Both Jeremy and I said that we would like to have one for ourselves...haha. Here is a shot of her in her new car seat and the old one sitting next to her (which will be used for the new baby)...

Our angel had Spaghetti for the first time yesterday. She is growing up so fast! I gave her a small bowl with smaller pieces, but she wanted to eat from daddy's plate. We just had to take a picture...

.

And that concludes our weekend. Next weekend we will be heading to Bend, Oregon for Jeremy's triathlon. We will be camping all weekend so Maya will get to experience that for the first time. We are really looking forward to it. I will write a small blog later this week after my ultrasound as well. Until then, have a great week everyone!

Maya must have been so hot!! Nice dress, but I can't see how you can wear anything with heels when you're pregnant. That's a really nice car seat. It looks so comfortable. Yeah, it's too bad we can't get those for us too (ha). I like the way Maya eats her spagetti. Very cute!
Love you all,
Mom

Thanks Tiffany. This is about the only dress I have that I can wear when I am pregnant. Thanks again for all of the maternity clothes.

I knew you would come back to the blogging world;) I am so glad you did. I love the template and I am excited to once again be able to follow your every move;) That sounded rather stalkerish...you know me. hehe

Chris and I are planning a Seattle trip we just havent decided when. We are kind on strike till someone comes to visit us. Why should we have to spend the money all the time right? I think his parents might come out in October though. We will see. But we will definitly keep you posted when we do come out.
