This weekend was pretty busy for us. On Friday night we laid low and after Maya was in bed Jeremy and I had a fire in the backyard. It was peaceful and relaxing for us to just sit and talk for a while. Then, on Saturday we went to Jeremy's company picnic where we stayed almost all day playing games and eating the great food that was provided. Maya took about 6 steps all on her own at the picnic and we actually caught it on video. Then on Sunday we met up with our friends Nathan and Dianne and their kids for another picnic in the park. Maya took about another 10 steps by herself. She is showing more and more interest in walking these days. She just turned 10 months yesterday and what a great time we had spending it with Nathan and Dianne. Their son, Gilbert, is just 1 month younger than Maya so they got to play together a little bit. If you ask me, I think Maya was flirting a little and he wasn't really responding. He's more mellow than Maya, that's for sure. There is no way Maya would ever fall asleep on my shoulder if I were out in public like that - but Gilbert fell asleep on his daddy's shoulder. Here are some photos of our picnic with the Knights (their website is on our links).

My gosh, I can't believe that Maya is walking!!! Wow! Ruby's standing now, and will let go for a few seconds that's about it. Good for you... now the REAL fun begins ;)
Love you

Grayson was the exact same age when he started walking 10 months almost to the day. I bet by Friday she will be running. Grayson did, and he hasn't stopped yet. Such a fun stage.
