From Angel Baby to Angel Girl

The planning is over, the party was a success and now our little girl is ONE YEAR OLD! In the blink of an eye our beautiful daughter has breezed through her first year and is well on her way to becoming a little girl. She seems so old to me now - like a little buddy of mine instead of a baby to care for. I know that the next few years will go by just as quickly and that is why I want to cherish every moment with her.
Maya has had some sort of stomach bug over the past week or so. She drinks very little and eats even less. I took her to the doctor on Wednesday and he told me to give her some Pedialyte, and she drank some of that but she is definitely not drinking enough. She seems to have lost weight too. Everytime I am holding her, I can feel her back bones and ribs. We have been praying for a quick recovery but this bug has made it's resting place in her little body. She has another appointment with the doctor tomorrow so hopefully that will ease our minds a little more. In the meantime, please keep her in your prayers.

It took nearly 8 hours to make her birthday cake. It was my first attempt at designing and decorating a cake of that size. I had some help from Jeremy in designing it, and I was pretty thankful to be done in the end. In spite of her illness, Maya had a great time with all of her little friends at her party. We were so thankful to have so many friends and family there to help celebrate her first year. She LOVED the attention!

Wow! That is some big tube. I can see why you said that it won't fit into her bedroom. You need a whole room for that alone. I noticed a picture on your piano. Is that the one of Maya and Raggedy Ann? If so, is there anyway that I can see a close up of that one?

I can try scanning it and sending it to you. We are thinking about using that dress as her costume for halloween too. I will have to find a wig for her though.

Get well soon Maya! My kids have had some bad bugs too and I know how hard it is. My kids hate the pedialyte!
