As of yesterday, Declan is 2 months old and growing steadily. Both Jeremy and I thought that he was really tall but at the doctor's office yesterday the charts proved that he is only in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. He is 11 lbs 10 1/2 ozs and 23 inches tall. Maya was still only 9lbs at this point but she's a girl and I am convinced that they tend to be smaller. Anyway, Declan did well and slept almost all day after getting his 5 shots to the leg.
We have decided to put Maya in her big-girl bed tonight. She is 15 months old now and a big monkey so we thought it was time. Plus, we are welcoming the idea of getting our room back in order after having Declan sleep in there with us for the past 2 months. Maya has also moved on to another new stage in her young life...potty training. Yep - you heard me right. She has been pointing to her diaper whenever she goes pee or poo so I decided to get her a potty just to see if she would be interested. Well, the first time we put her on there she actually went pee and poo. We dumped it in the toilet and waved goodbye to it "Bye bye poops!" Then the very next day she did it again! I thought - this is crazy, she is too young! So instead of letting her use the potty on the floor, I now have the smaller ring around the toilet so that I don't have to keep dumping and cleaning the potty all the time. (Time is a big issue when you have a 15 month old and a 2 month old!) Every day now I put Maya on the potty and sing with her or read to her to pass the time away. Hopefully her interest doesn't dwindle and she is an early trainee.
Here is little Maya inside her new favorite area.....

OMG how cute!! I cant believe how fast they are growing up!! Potty training already..I swear Maya is so advanced..always has been!! Hope you and your family are well xoxo Diana
Wow a big bed and training! It's amazing how fast they must grow up when they are not the youngest anymore! Logan is older than Maya, but still our baby, so you view them as the youngest, cause well they are. I couldn't imagine putting Logan in a big bed, he just would not grasp it yet. Jonah moved at 2yrs cause we were newly pregnant with Logan and thought it would give him 6 months to get used to it. But he has made a habit of coming into our bed around 3-5 am every night, he says he justs like sleeping with us better, and hey they are only this age once, soon he will not want anything to do with us, haha. And potty training, I hope she does well for you, and she is a girl so they are usually faster anyway. She's a smart cookie you have there. Boys are so lazy, Logan could care less what he does in his diaper.
chow Tammy, you're kids are adorable!!
I will update my blog this week. I've been off work for 2 weeks, and out of my usual routines, and haven't been home much.
Hey for the record I haven't blogged about much of our trip yet. Just my birthday and that one day, your time will come:P And hey I didn't see YOU blog about me coming to visit you :P
Zoë has been showing signs of readiness for potty training too. She always tells me before she goes so that makes it easier. But at the same time, she is far from ready to being able to do it herself. We go and try periodically but I know that until she is bigger and ready to wipe and flush and wash her own hands, I am only potty training myself...although the teaching part of it is good for now.
Zoë loves her big girl bed too. Good for you for moving her early! I waited til Isabelle was two and wondered after why we waited so long.
Your kids are growing so fast! Hope you are getting some sleep these days.
We had the opposite problem with training. Taylor didn't do it early. We thought she was before she turned 2, would go on the potty, but then could have cared less till she was 3. Hopefully Maya keeps at it. Then you'll only have 1 in diapers. That would be so nice.
