It is amazing how things turn out. We decided to sell our house and we were thinking that we would not get anything nearly as nice in an area closer to Jeremy's office. After looking at what seemed to be around 40 houses, we discovered that maybe we were looking in the wrong area. So our agent decided to show us a house around the corner from where she lives - in an area that was just built within the past 3 years or so. It is priced lower than what it is probably valued at but we were still unsure about the area because it would still take Jeremy 20 -25 minutes to get to work and we thought the school district was not so great. Well we discovered that driving on a highway for 20 mins seems much easier than driving from stop-light to stop-light AND after researching the schools some more we also discovered that the elementary school in the area is actually in the top 10% in the whole State. Buying this newer house is about the same price as buying a 15 year old house because an older house would need some work done to it (i.e. new roofing, new siding, exterior paint...etc). All that said, we have decided to put an offer on this house in Newberg. It was built in 2004, is 1957 square feet with 3 bdrms 2.5 baths and a bonus room for the kiddies. But what I like MOST about it is that it has a soaker tub (AND a shower) in the master bathroom. I will be having a lot of CALGON TAKE ME AWAY moments! We will be writing up the papers this evening so please keep us in your prayers. We really don't want to pay the asking price, so pray that our offer is accepted.
Here it goes - a new chapter in our lives.

That is SO weird! I just put as my status "Calgon, take me away" and I hadn't even read your blog yet! Weird - we are WAY too much alike! Hope it all goes well tonight! I can't wait to one day come and visit you on the sunny west coast! Love you all!
I am glad that you guys found a house. Congrats! And it's still pretty close by, so hopefully we will still get to see you guys. We do need to plan something before you guys move though. Take care, Stace
I will be thinking about you. I am sure it will all turn out well. Show us some pics when the papers are signed.
