Four in the Bed

Do you remember the nursery rhyme that said "There were four in the bed and the little one said 'roll over'"? Well that was us this weekend. We decided to spend the evening of July 4th in Newport at my in-laws' vacation rental. Declan fell asleep early in the playpen located in Jeremy's grandmother's room so when it was time for the rest of us to go to bed, she said it was okay if we left him in there instead of moving him. Well, I couldn't sleep thinking about him being in the next room. He woke-up a few times, resulting in Jeremy's grandma also waking up, so at 2am I decided that maybe it would be better to bring Declan in the bed with us....making it 4 in our bed (including Maya). And to top it off - it was a sofa sleeper...haha. Needless to say, Maya and Declan ruled the roost. Jeremy slept with one arm on the bed and one arm off. I slept on my side between two very comfortable kids. So it is now 7pm on Sunday evening and after this blog is posted, I will probably head to bed.

We had a fun time in Newport. We watched the fireworks from our balcony and walked in and out of stores along the strip. Maya and Declan were super cute sporting their patriotic attire and Jeremy and I had a great time with his parents and grandmother. We even had time to go swimming in the pool. On our way home, we stopped in Dallas to meet up with Jeremy's sister who is visiting from Indiana. Maya and Declan love spending time with her three kids.

Here are some fun pictures of our Independence Day weekend...

Oh my! Four in the bed!? We've had 3 in the bed on occasion (Miss M.), but not FOUR!! I can imagine why you would be so exhausted!

Love all of the pictures, and your kiddos look so festive. I failed this year on patriotic outfits. Oh well...maybe next year. ;)
