Hairstyles and Pounding Hearts

Okay, so when I get something in my head, I just have to go out and do it! I saw a beautiful lady singing at church and I just had to have her hair-cut! It is not much different from my own but her bangs looked so cute on her. I bit the bullet and went to the salon to get mine done.

Declan's grandmother usually cuts his hair but some major action needed to be taken before she returned from vacation. Thankfully Jeremy has picked-up a few tips from his mother and was able to cut Declan's hair over the weekend. Now he is our little Marine!

BEFORE

AFTER

On Saturday night we took the kids to Safari Sams with some friends of ours Sarah, Tony and their daughter Kestyn. It was a night I will never forget. The indoor play center has great security and no child can get out unless they are with a parent. We all get stamped on the way in so our numbers match our child's number. Pretty clever if you ask me! We have been to Safari Sams before but this night was especially heart wrenching for me. My beautiful 35 month old BABY girl took off into the climbing structure without mommy or daddy. When we had been there before, Jeremy and I would alternate and climb the structure with her, but this time she wanted to do it on her own. My heart pounded as she got further and further out of my sight. A little piece of me was finding it very hard to let her go and have fun. A little piece of me was shouting inside "Maya come back, you can't do it alone!" But I stopped, took a deep breath and let her go. I knew she would be safe. I knew she couldn't get out of the building without mommy or daddy, but it was just so hard to accept that she is becoming a big girl now. A girl who can scale the side of our kitchen island without the help of a chair. A girl who says her boyfriend is Troy Bolton (from HSM) and who wants to go to the Jonas Brothers' school. Somewhere along the line I blinked and this little girl grew-up without me knowing! Have you ever heard a 35 month old hip-hop dancing and rapping the words "Freaky Freaky Freaky Fresh....WORD!" ? That's our girl. A real gangsta (haha)!

The two dads chillin' while the babies (Declan and Kestyn) play in the toddler zone.

Tammy, you look like a model in that picture!!! I love your new hair style;) And YES, Safari Sams was a lot of fun! It's funny what you said about chasing Maya around when she was younger...that's what Tony and I did all night with Kestyn! It brings out the kids in you for sure;) Maya was so independant that night running around everywhere. She would always find us and check back in though. Too cute!
