We carved our pumpkins this weekend. With the NFL game on in the background Jeremy decided to make it easy on himself and carve a simple Jack-o-lantern face. I was originally going to gut mine and just add a flower arrangement inside the pumpkin but that seemed like it would have been more work. So I carved a pumpkin face only to have it's tongue get sliced off (my bad). So now I have named it Jean after the former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien who likes to talk out of the side of his mouth.
And yes folks, Jean likes Sugar-Free Taffy!
The last several weeks Jeremy has been working hard on our backyard, leveling the ground, adding compost and seed and then fertilizing it. We are doing this in preparation for our new deck and plants which will hopefully be done in the Spring or Summer time. Jeremy has done an excellent job so far. The grass seed is almost full grown now so we are excited to finally have a green backyard.
This was what our grass looked like when we moved in (April 1st 2008)...
And this is how it looks today...
(The area without grass will be our future deck.)

I took the kids to the park a few days ago and decided to bring the camera along. This was the first time I was able to capture a shot of Maya and Declan holding hands.

What great looking pumpkins. And your yard looks so fabulous!! All that blood, sweat, and tears (??) of Jeremy's is paying off. And, I can only imagine what it will look like with the deck complete. Cute pics of the kiddos at the park...totally love that last one of them on the slide. My favorite!!
