The Jinx

Did I jinx it? Did I speak too soon? On our way to Costco on Friday night I told Jeremy that we have to keep asking Maya if she has to go potty because she was only in underpants. In mid-conversation, while we were still in the middle of FARMLAND, Maya says "potty!" So we told her to hold it and she did, but then I started to realize that we were not going to get to a restaraunt or gas station anytime soon so we would have to pull over. Jeremy found a little extra gravel space on the shoulder of the road so I pulled over. All was well until Jeremy got Maya out of her car-seat. It was THEN, while he was holding her, that she decided to pee. He put her in a diaper, changed her pants and away we went on our shopping excursion. She usually does really well, but she has her moments too. I have decided that I just need to be more diligent in getting her on the potty at home and not worry so much about being completely trained. It will happen in time and she is still only 22 months old so she is still a bit young. The moral of the story? She is doing well with her training and we will press on toward the final goal.

We had some friends over this weekend for a BBQ. It was nice to catch up with Travis and Stacey because we don't get to see them much. Maya took control of the house....showing the girls where everything was and how to dance to her favorite show: "Hi-5." I think they all had fun. Especially the two youngest ones, Declan and his little girlfriend Peyton. She is only a month younger than him so it was cute to watch them crawl around together.

It takes a while to get them fully trained but at least you were prepared with extra clothes. Big step though telling you she had to go potty. Growing too fast!

potty training is so much fun, huh!? :) g.g. is the same age as maya and she seems interested , but not fully ready yet. my oldest , sophie, was fully potty trained at 20 months old. it's so weird how different they can be because g.g. just isn't ready.
you've got a sweet little family!
