"Dear Gah, tank oo, wahcome, amen!"
("Dear God, thank you, you're welcome, amen!")
This is what Maya says after every time we pray together. She knows a lot of words but she gets them mixed-up sometimes. She loves to play dress-up and put her purse around her neck and say "Bubye, See you, bubye, wahcome!" For the most part though, she is very good with her words. She understands us and we understand her. It's like having a miniature friend around me all the time. I like it! She has been doing something pretty cool for a long time now. I have read her ABCs of Canada book to her a few times before bed and about a month ago I wanted to see if she was retaining any of it so I shut the book and I asked her a few questions:
Me: What does H stand for?
Maya: Hockey
Me: What does C stand for?
Maya: Calgry (calgary)
Then Trying to stump her, I asked ...
Me: Ok, what does Y stand for?
Maya: Yukon
Trying to stump her again.....
Me: Ok, now this is a hard one. What does Z stand for?
Maya: Zamboni!
So our daughter is eagerly learning to be a true Canadian. Whenever she sees ANY sport on T.V. she thinks that it is "hockey". THAT'S MY GIRL!....haha! It's so hard to believe that she will be two in a few short weeks.

I can vouch for that. We go through them on the phone too. I love it when she says "Zamboni." So cute. Don't let them grow up too fast. I have to visit them soon and I want to "play!"
Love you all. Mom/Nanny
See, she belongs in Canada, permenently. well, it really only counts if she/you guys are in Newfoundland, otherwise it is just as well you are in Africa
That is great, keep up the Canadian influence! Too cute.. Zamboni.
