We all go through changes and I went through a big change last year. I lost about 30 lbs in the 3 months following Declan's birth. There was nothing that could stop me from working out. If I couldn't make it to the gym, I ran around my neighborhood - sometimes in the pouring rain! But then came the big move to Newberg. I became consumed with packing, moving in, unpacking, decorating and the list goes on. It was during that time off from the gym that I began to notice that I did not give my body enough time to heal after Declan's birth. I have been in a lot of pain over these last few months and for the most part I have kept quiet about it. Well, I have decided that I do not want this, or anything, to get in my way of staying healthy. I am heading back to the gym tonight for some light excersizing. I do not plan to go overboard....YET! I still have about 35 lbs that I want to lose before this summer but I know that I have to take it a lot slower than before. Here is a template that I have created to help record my day to day weightloss plan. I will copy the bottom portion for each week that follows.
As a stay at home mother it is easy to snack on all of the foods that your kids eat. A few goldfish here, a couple of pancakes there. It becomes an endless battle of fast fingers and brain freeze. I don't mean to do it but I can't help it. Well, today that all stops. As hard as it is to focus on myself, I am going to at least try. If you are interested in joining me on this journey and would like a copy of my template, I can send you a copy. There are a lot of great websites too that can help you along the way:

I'm so glad that you have found the motivation to get moving again! Do try to take it easy, but I hope that you will be able to find the right kind of exercise that works for you. I've been on a journey as well to lose the many, many, many pounds I have put on since having my children (actually since getting married), and have been able to lose 40 pounds and still counting. It's a day to day struggle, but I'm determined to stick with it, so I keep be a happier and healthier mom and wife.
Heidi, we may just have to become accountability partners:)
So far so good. When I joined the gym last night, they waved the enrolment fee because it hasn't even been a year since I canceled my membership. That was a huge financial blessing! I felt ALIVE again last night - like I was my old self again...motivated to keep my body healthy. I am so pumped now:)
