A Maya Moment

After waking from her afternoon nap yesterday...

Maya: Mommy, I'm from Afritca!

Me: Really? What is it like in Africa?

Maya: It's cold! Burrr!

Me: Maya, I don't think you are from Africa.

Maya: No, Maya's from Newberg.

She has been learning a lot from her favorite TV Shows and everyday I hear her saying new words. One day I asked her what she wanted for dinner and this was her response:

"I want tacos, lettuce, cheese, salsa and frijoles." (Which I later learned was spanish for beans.)

Today I was trying to give her a play by play of what is going to be happening tomorrow when I am at my oral surgeon appointment....

Me: Sarah will be coming over to take care of you and Declan while mommy is at the dentist

Maya: I can go with you mommy!

Me: No you will have to stay here and help Sarah take care of your brother.

Maya: It's okay mommy. I can go with you. I can hold your hand. I give you water. You'll be okay!"

My sweet sweet girl!

Too cute!!! She is growing up and learning so much from everyone and everything around her. I will have to be on my "A" game tomorrow with her! She's so sharp!

Good luck with your appointment! Kids say the cutest things, you will have to write those down and share with her when she gets older!

Yes indeed, these precious moments are to be written and kept in a special place (besides your heart, that is). I can actually hear Maya saying these things when you write them because I've heard her say similar things when I was there. She's a gem, that's for sure.
